Fall Frolic

This quilt started with the leaf blocks. My husband saw a leaf quilt in Quilter’s Newsletter Magazine and asked me to make him one. After making numerous leaf blocks I began to get board of this and put it up. It was after quilting a quilt for Sharyn Craig that I started looking again at my leaf blocks. I e-mailed Sharyn and said you have me inspired, I know what I’m going to do with my leaf blocks. She said stay inspired and finish the quilt. She wanted it for her new book, “Great Sets”. That was all I needed to get the juices flowing. It was quite a challenge to design my own quilt from scratch but with the help of Sharyn and her “Setting Solutions” book I made it. This quilt was totally inspired by Sharyn Craig and her technique.

In quilting it, I wanted movement within the leafs. Like they were swirling in the breeze, so I did partial circles for the quilting. My husband is very pleased with how his quilt turned out.

This quilt is published in Sharyn Craig's book "Great Sets" on page 20.

It was used as the entry way display for the Gold Beach Quilt Show in 2006
